Yoga Bhāvanā: The Art of Cultivation
Yoga Bhāvanā is an invitation to approach Yoga as a Journey of Becoming.
By liberating ourselves from the idea that our practice has an end-point, it inspires a commitment to the path of Yoga itself.
In her teaching, Kia weaves Aṣṭāṅga Yoga with classical Prāṇayāma and Buddha Dharma into an integrated, embodied approach to practice. During the weekend we will build powerful tools and valuable resources, allowing us to grow our practice as a path to wholeness, compassion and being of benefit to the world.
“Bhāvana or The Art of Cultivation, is not another self-improvement project that places our happiness in some unspecified future. These teachings point us directly to the resources available to us in this moment. We have all we need right here to take the next step, and see meaningful change.” – Kia Naddermier
We will approach these transformative teachings with an open mindset, enabling us to inform and inspire our practice regardless of current experience.
This workshop welcomes all interested practitioners and teachers.
Kia will be assisted in all classes by Arminda Marrero
Kia Naddermier has been a devoted practitioner for more than 30 years. She is the founder of Mysore Yoga Paris – a global yoga community dedicated to Yoga Bhāvanā, a wholistic approach to practice. Kia’s teachings integrate her profound knowledge of the philosophy and practice of all aspects of yoga – Āsana, subtle and physical Anatomy, Meditation, Kriyas, Prāṇayāma. She is one of the first and very few Prāṇayāma teachers certified at the highest level within the Kaivalyadham lineage. Being a dedicated Dharma practitioner and a certified Mindfulness Mentor, her teachings draw extensively from both Yogic and Tibetan Buddhist traditions.
Kia teaches with authenticity, clarity and generosity, making ancient practices relevant in our daily lives as a means for spiritual growth and inner healing. Her deep love and years of dedication to all aspects of yoga shine through in her insightful and compassionate teaching. Practitioners return year after year to benefit from the continuous evolution of her research, practice and teaching.
She is the co-creator of the much appreciated podcast Mysore Yoga Paris – Closer Together offering free practice resources available for all.

PROGRAM:
Āsana Bhāvanā – An Embodied Approach to Aṣṭāṅga Yoga
Friday & Saturday morning
In these dynamic practice sessions, we deepen our understanding of Aṣṭāṅga Yoga as path to insight, inviting us to illuminate our heart through the intelligence of our body. We will move through key elements of the series with an explorative mindset, looking at common physical patterns and energetic actions to help cultivate an attuned practice rooted in yogic principles.
You will be introduced to Kāya Bhāvanā, Kia’s unique Somatic Preparatory Sequences, that offer a deeply healing and transformative ground for our Āsana practice.
These profoundly comprehensive classes will open up new dimensions that will continue to inspire your practice long after the workshop concludes.
Meditation & Mysore Practice
Sunday & Monday morning
We open our mornings together with Mindfulness Meditation, cultivating deep awareness aligning body, breath, heart and mind. Kia will guide us through the beginning of practice to set a common intention before continuing with Mysore Style at our own rhythm. This is a wonderful opportunity to fully anchor the teachings from the previous days in your personal practice, while receiving individual guidance from Kia & Armi to further deepen your experience.
All levels welcome but you need to be able to practice Mysore Style Self-Practice.
Prāṇa Bhāvanā – The Cultivation of Breath and Wisdom of Heart
Friday & Saturday Afternoon
Dedicated to the practices of Prānayāma as well as reflections around the Buddha Dharma – these lovingly crafted sessions establish a home ground within our subtle body from where transformation can take place. New students are mindfully introduced to classical Prānayāma in the lineage of Kaivalyadham, whilst those with more experience refine and expand their practice and understanding.
Centring and Satsaṅg
Sunday afternoon
This last afternoon session of our workshop, we gather around a centring reflection as well as offer space for Satsaṅg – discussion and inquiries around the practices and teachings of yoga. What happens now? How can we expand the teachings from the weekend into our daily life.
